Actor Kalki Koechlin and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap fell in love during the shooting of their film Dev D and got married. However, the marriage ran its course and the couple filed for divorce in 2015. Kalki and Anurag are now friends with each other but it took them some time to reach this place of mutual respect.

In an interview with Puja Talwar, Kalki revealed that she was in therapy to deal with the circumstances and only after giving space to one another, the former couple came to respect each other as friends. “It takes time,” Kalki said and added, “There is no denying that for the first few years after our divorce, we couldn’t be the kind of friends that we are today. We needed that separate time.”
Kalki said that soon after the divorce with Anurag she had to undergo therapy to come to terms with life. “It hurts to know about the other person’s relationships and things like that. So, of course, we took that time and I definitely took a lot of therapy and now it’s been what, seven, eight years? It’s been a long, long time so it’s fine. It’s great and we get along as friends, as people and that’s why we were together in the first place,” she said.
Kalki was recently seen in the movie Goldfish, which also stars Deepti Naval. Directed by Pushan Kripalani, the film was presented by Anurag Kashyap.
